APPG for Responsible Vaping Inquiry – Closed

The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Responsible Vaping has launched an inquiry into the role of vaping in the United Kingdom.

The inquiry will look at the role of vaping in the UK, covering a range of specific topics, that includes the public health, environmental and economic impact, along with proposed government legislative measures including flavours, packaging, display, excise and a ban on certain vaping products.

This inquiry will bring together evidence and experience from experts in wide range of respective fields as the Group focuses on sector responsibilities in addressing the key issues associated with vaping.

UPDATE, November 2024:

We are grateful for the informed and well-evidenced views presented from a wide spectrum of interested stakeholders in response to our recent Inquiry.

The responses received have been interesting and useful to shaping our representations in light of current developments. This input has helped us refine our policy stance by integrating perspectives from different stakeholders across the implications on public health, environmental and economic impact, along with proposed government legislative measures including flavours, packaging, display, excise and a ban on certain vaping products.

The material will be particularly useful in respect of the recent introduction of the Tobacco and Vapes Bill to Parliament. As such, the APPG will consider the views expressed in the Inquiry submissions to inform future briefings on the Bill. This will also apply to other legislation applicable to vaping that is currently passing through Parliamentary procedure, and which respondents have commented on. As a result, the Inquiry’s evidence will not result in the publication of a formal report.
